In their great search for answers, ancient people realized that the key to understanding the universe lies within ourselves and that it is about harmonizing our own inner vibrations with those of the world around us. To achieve this, it is very important to work on harmonizing body and mind, for example, by practicing specific postures and meditating. In our school, this discipline is called Pa-Kua Syntony, or Chinese Yoga. Syntony is a path to self-knowledge through stretching exercises, held postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. Those who regularly practice Syntony achieve physical fitness and stamina. The movements strengthen the body and build muscle. The stretching exercises increase flexibility and mobility, thus protecting the body from injury. Breathing exercises supply the body with oxygen and regulate heart rate and circulation. In addition, techniques are learned to reduce stress in everyday life and regain calm and balance.
